Grizzly in Berlin

Finishing Lunch with My Goethe-Institut Berlin German Class

The Quiet Before the Class

Virtually nobody arrives to German class at the Goethe-Institut Berlin even a moment before it starts at 8.30, Monday-Friday. This is where the Magic happens: room 102, Neue Schönhauser Str 20, 10178 Berlin, Germany.

Yes, Mom, I'm Studying and Doing My German Homework

Met the Berlinomat Guy

Jörg Wichmann is the businessman behind the Berlinomat here at Berlin-Hauptbahnhof and I troubled him to come to the train station on a Sunday because I thought I ordered something that was not delivered. If I knew more German I would have realized that the machine told me the order did not go through and that I did not incur a charge. Well, anyway, I want to do a story on him, hopefully for AdAge Global Ideas, if they'll have me.

Hurrah for the Shameless German Commercialism of Easter!

I Love My Small Filson Duffle in Tin Cloth

I love my other Filson duffle bags, Large and Extra Large, for traveling -- they're tough as hell, luxurious, handsome, and unstoppable. However, instead of getting the Filson Small Duffle in canvas and bridle leather I bought the new Filson Small Duffle made of waxed, water proof, tin cloth with web nylon handles and shoulder strap. I have been using it as my over-night bag (pictured) as well as my gym bag and even my shopping bag. It is smaller and handsomer than my wonderful and amazing PAC Design OS courier bag but it seems to swallow everything I need for 48-hours while still being very attractive, hip, modern, of obvious good quality, and also a little less leather-fancy than the regular Filson duffle -- also, less expensive! So, if it gets stolen at the gym, I would not feel as crushed as I would if I lost my other duffle bags. Also, since it is less expensive, I am willing to beat it up more.

The cool details is that the bag is lined with green codura nylon so the wax fabric won't harm your stuff. Also, there are two outside pockets on either side of the bag, head and tail, and also a wonderful surprise: there a little key-clip in one of the outside pockets, perfect for your house keys when you're in Stockholm and don't need them, just like I did a couple days ago. Where to put your key ring while on business trips? Right there! You can see it poking out in the photo at the window. Very cool. Love it. Worth the $99 from http://www.filson.com

The weather is magnificent but I really don't want it to get too warm as I prefer the coolness of Spring and Autumn.

The New Abraham Harrison Logo?

Let me know what you think? I quite love the color and the removal of the "&" and the boldness and the power and the asymmetrical nature of its tilt. Let me know what you think? What is your impression?

TXL Bus from Tegel is Awesome

The taxis is faster and more convenient but there's nothing wrong with the TXL bus to Alexanderplatz via my stop, Berlin-Hauptbahnhof.
